This project, under Plan International, focuses on educating youths on making and saving money. We are implementing this project in two districts, Nyamagana and Ilemela. We gather youths aged 15-24 in these districts and create groups, with about 60% girls, 35% boys, and 5% disabled youths. First they are educated on how to control their finances and other major life skills, such as on entrepreneurship and sex education. Also, they are taught about DOT: digital opportunity trusts. Then, they can choose to get training on farming or small business. Once the training and education is complete, they are connected to loan institutions, receive a loan, and begin their own businesses.
